If you were to speak to me in person, your first thought would probably be "she's not from around here", and you'd be right! I hail from across the Atlantic, in a sunny little corner of South Africa, where my love of the outdoors and passion for people was born and nurtured under a burning sun.

After 9/11, I was called to serve my new American community in the realm of Public Safety because I saw a need to drive the use of location-based data into the reach of decision-making officials so that planning, deployment, and recovery could be expedited in the emergency management and public safety realm. I have served the citizens of my state faithfully for the last 16 years in a geospatial intelligence analytics capacity and I am grateful for the opportunity to have contirbuted to the evolution of public safety workflows to cut spending and save taxpayer money.

Our world is becoming smaller every day, and business is under continual pressure to keep up. I am proud to join the ranks of those who see the value in a strong communications infrastructure as a basic right, and I am on a mission to contribute towards that end through GIS.

Today I am happily located in the Greater Atlanta Metropolitan area, where I spend my time advocating for and providing education in safety and community risk reduction. I can be found honoring my love of nature by exploring our country's beautiful waterways by personal watercraft, enjoying the outdoors hiking, riding horses, or camping with friends.
